Chucktown Tour’s Community Involvement

Chucktown Tours was founded with the goal of enhancing the tour experience in Charleston. Our commitment extends beyond just crafting top-notch walking tours; it involves active engagement within our community. We take pride in getting involved, and supporting organizations like the Preservation Society of Charleston and the Palmetto Guild for certified tour guides is one way to do just that. Furthermore, we proudly support the initiatives of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, championing the welfare of small businesses and advocating for the legislative requirements of businesses throughout the state.

Community involvement

Getting Involved by Supporting Other Business in South Carolina

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is a statewide organization that promotes pro-job and pro-business policies at the state and federal level. We bring together businesses from across the state – both big and small – through coordinated strategies, training opportunities, and networking events. With a unified voice, we will make the biggest impact.

Community Involvement to Preserve History

The Preservation Society is working diligently to protect Charleston’s historic buildings, cultural resources, and communities by promoting better development practices, flood mitigation strategies, and tourism management within the Charleston area.

Use Certified Tour Guides

The Palmetto Guild represents certified tour guides who have demonstrated proficiency on an exam administered by the City of Charleston. This test is based on the competency of Carolina Lowcountry history, culture, and municipal regulations. Guild members are professionals who are committed to historical accuracy, continuing education, and providing an engaging experience for all visitors.
